Wellness weekend in Sourbrodt – pure relaxation in a holiday home with sauna and whirlpool

After a stressful week and the last traffic jam before reaching the Eifel region, we finally reach our destination late Friday evening: a charming holiday home with sauna and whirlpool in Sourbrodt. A fresh breeze blows outside, and it's comfortably warm inside. The fireplace crackles softly, but our highlight is already waiting: the private sauna is preheated.

We leave our bags behind for now, slip straight into our bathrobes, and enjoy the soothing warmth. Later, we climb into the whirlpool on the terrace – enveloped in steam, overlooking the tranquil nature all around. This is exactly how we imagined the start of our long weekend.

The next morning, the air smells of coffee and croissants – we had previously picked up some fresh goods from the bakery in the neighboring town. After a leisurely breakfast with a view of the countryside, a bit of culture is on the agenda: We visit the Signal de Botrange, the highest point in Belgium, just a few minutes away by car.

The nature center there offers fascinating information about the High Eifel and is definitely worth a visit.

In the afternoon, we return to the holiday home – and into the sauna again. Our muscles thank us. Afterwards, we relax again in the warm whirlpool. You don't find such a combination everywhere – a real holiday home with whirlpool and sauna, just what you'd want.

For dinner, we head to the Restaurant Le Petit Mont Rigi. Stylish, regional, welcoming – and every dish is a hit. A glass of wine rounds off the evening perfectly. The kitchen is open from Thursday to Sunday from 6pm to 8.30pm, reservation is recommended ;-)

Today we're taking it easy. We're taking a short stroll through the High Fens, reading on the couch, and listening to music. Our highlight of the day remains the wellness oasis right in the house. Whether before or after dinner, the combination of a holiday home with a sauna and whirlpool ensures we can completely unwind.

In the evening, we'll try out a simple pasta recipe – cooking is actually fun here in the fully equipped kitchen. Afterwards, we'll have a final sauna session and another dip in the bubbling whirlpool. That's all it takes for a perfect Sunday.

One last breakfast, one last look at the steamy terrace – and then, unfortunately, it's time to pack. We bid farewell to our personal wellness temple, but we already know: We'll be back.
