About the property
Enjoy a relaxing stay in the peaceful village of Weelde, just a short distance from Turnhout. This renovated train station building, located on a historic site next to railway line 29, the former connection between Turnhout (Belgium) and Tilburg (Netherlands), is the perfect base to explore Turnhout, the unique enclave Baarle-Nassau/Hertog, and the surrounding region.
With space for 24 guests, this holiday home offers not only plenty of sleeping accommodations but also spacious, modern living areas. There are two living rooms, each with two comfortable sofas and a flat-screen TV. One of the living rooms also features a full bar with fridges and glasses, plus a foosball table and dartboard for fun indoor entertainment. The spacious dining area with two tables is perfect for enjoying delicious meals you have prepared in advance in one of the two fully equipped kitchens. In addition to the shared spaces, there is a ground-floor bedroom with a private bathroom, fully equipped for guests in a wheelchair or with reduced mobility.
On the first floor, you will find the ten remaining bedrooms. Seven of these are double rooms, each with a private bathroom with shower and washbasin. There are also two children’s rooms with bunk beds, a spacious bathroom with shower and bathtub, two separate toilets, and a multifunctional room with seating area, TV, game console, air hockey, and a bunk bed for two children.
Outside, a large terrace with two parasols awaits, perfect for enjoying summer days and evenings, whether with a refreshing drink or a relaxed meal with family and friends. Children will also find plenty to do: between the playground, the table tennis table, and the small play and seating area with toys, they can have hours of entertainment.
Around Weelde and Turnhout, there is plenty to discover. Visit historic Turnhout with its castle and the National Playing Card Museum, or explore the unique enclave Baarle-Nassau/Hertog. Nature lovers can enjoy extensive forests and walking and cycling routes, while local markets, cafés, and adventurous activities such as golf or horseback riding provide a varied and enjoyable stay.
