Family holiday in Alcúdia: 7 days of sun, pool and little adventures

A vacation with two families means many voices, lots of laughter, and diverse interests. But that's exactly what makes it exciting! For ten people, including children, Alcúdia on Mallorca offers the perfect setting: sun, beach, a pool, and plenty of space to enjoy time together and apart. Here's a suggestion for what such a week could look like: completely relaxed, with short excursions, cooking evenings together, and a special adventure.
Day 1: Drop off your suitcase, start your vacation
After checking into your shared accommodation—ideally with a large pool, terrace, and enough space for everyone—it's time to take a deep breath. The kids explore the house, while the adults treat themselves to a cool drink. The first evening is dedicated to feeling at home. Perhaps you're already cooking together—pasta, a big salad, fresh bread. No stress, just good food.

Day 2: Pool, market and cooking together
In the morning, we have breakfast, go for a swim, and read – whatever everyone wants. Around midday, a trip to the market in Alcúdia (Tuesdays & Sundays) is worthwhile. There you'll find fresh fruit, Mallorcan cheese, olives, and perhaps a few souvenirs. Back at the accommodation, we chop and cook together – the children help out, while the adults enjoy the long table in the shade.
Day 3: Beach day in Playa de Muro
Just a few minutes away is the gently sloping, child-friendly beach of Playa de Muro – ideal for swimmers of all ages. The fine sand invites you to dig, and the water is clear and calm. Those who like it can rent a pedal boat or go for a quick paddleboard ride. In the afternoon, perhaps an ice cream at one of the beach bars – or a mojito for the grown-ups.

Day 4: Split & Experience – Diving & Alternatives
Today is going to be exciting! Half of the group ventures underwater - during introductory diving on the north coast. The bays around Cap Pinar or Cala Sant Vicenç, for example, Scuba Mallorca offer ideal conditions and great visibility. For those who prefer to stay on dry land, there are alternatives:
Mini hike to the Ermita de la Victoria – a short, shady path with views over the bay
Visit to Hidropark – water slides, playgrounds, and fun for the kids
Creative time at home – crafts, games, or just relaxation and a pool
In the evening, everyone meets again – and eagerly listens to the diving stories.
Day 5: Old Town Alcúdia & Tapas at home
A leisurely stroll through Alcúdia's old town is worthwhile. Behind the city walls, small alleys, boutiques, and cafés await. Children enjoy the ancient towers, and parents enjoy the beautiful photo opportunities. Back home, tapas evening is on the agenda: small portions, a variety of flavors, everyone contributes something. Plus, music, fairy lights, and a great atmosphere.

Day 6: A day trip – perhaps Sóller or Cap de Formentor
Depending on the energy of the group:
Sóller with its historic train from Palma – a real highlight for young and old
Or by car to the Cap de Formentor viewpoint – breathtaking cliffs and perhaps a short stop at Playa de Formentor
If you like it quieter, just stay at home, read a book or enjoy the silence by the pool
Day 7: Last day – Collecting favorite moments
Enjoy everything one last time. Perhaps everyone in their own way: one last excursion, a walk, another visit to the market, another visit to the pool. In the evening, we'll have a barbecue, share stories, laugh – and definitely record the best moments.

Conclusion: Time together is the greatest gift
A family vacation isn't about rushing through every moment. It's about connecting, being together—and allowing everyone to be alone sometimes. Alcúdia is a wonderful place for this: friendly, relaxed, and diverse. Those who have been here usually come back.
